How can you be an alumni and a first year freshman at the same time? Just ask Jay Cali, who in his first year of modeling with Hard Body Alumni movement. Cali is a warm summer breeze in the middle of a catastrophic winter snow storm or what I would call a refreshing sign of hope for a modeling industry that definitely is lacking a serious African-American presence. Keep an eye out for this male model because he is going to be doing big things in the industry. If I had to describe Cali and his work in two words it would simply be “Fresh Man”! Now here is a short bio on Cali and his previous work:

Hard Body Alumni (H.B.A.) is a group of male models that are setting a new standard in the male modeling class. H.B.A is composed of an elite group of sophisticated professional male models that specialize in fashion, print, runway, catalog and fitness modeling. A Hard Body Alumni model can be described as a 360 degree male model, a man’s man, and a renaissance man. I love them because their body of work presents a professional, upscale, and classy appeal that could sell salt to a slug, water to a well, or simply your product to your customer. H.B.A along with their associates Melina at Divine Faces and Aylin of Delight Designs are definitely suma cum laude…top of their class! Melina works as their modeling coach and mentor while Aylin handles any graphic design needs. Together, they form a class any teacher would be proud of.

With all that said the first member and founder of Hard Body Alumni is model Vic “Hard Body” Damone. Vic has been modeling for 2 years and was born in the U.S. Virgin Islands and raised in Northern California. He has an Associates degree in business administration and a bachelors of science in criminology. His hobbies include running, working out, reading, and acting.

When I asked Vic to describe Hard Body Alumni, this is what he had to say:

Ok, so every woman has went out and bought a pair of jeans that they thought were slammin’ just to get home and realize they just didn’t fit your body well. I mean after three hours of staring at your back pockets in a mirror you will notice every small imperfection and can probably recall the stitch count of the jeans. However, choosing the right jeans for your body type is very important to make sure you’re always accentuating your best assets and disguising your minor imperfections. Knowing your body type and the right cut of jeans that match your body type will help save you a lot of time in front of the mirror and in the back of return lines at the mall. So in order to save you some time here is a short list of the 4 major body types and the cut of jeans that are a best fit for each body type.

Banana Body Type:

Women who have a banana body type, often referred to as having a boy shaped body, have the luxury of being able to wear a wide variety of jeans. Banana body types should wear jeans that have back pocket embellishments and have a light-colored stone wash to help give more full body look. It is also recommended to wear tops that are form-fitting with belts when applicable. This will help present a more curvy waist line.

Loose fitting or baggy pants are not recommended for the banana body type unless the boy look is your desired style.

Pear Body Type:

Boot cut or straight leg jeans are recommended for women with a pear body type. Boot cut jeans with a faded thigh design will give their bottom halves a more balanced appearance. However, with that said bell bottom or flared pants are not recommended because they will make your bottom half appear larger.

Apple Body Type:

Women with an apple body type should wear straight leg jeans which will help provide a more balanced appearance from their top half and their bottom half. It is ok to wear form-fitting jeans but it is not recommended to wear tight jeans.

Hourglass (Full Figured Body):

Stretch jeans are recommended for full-figured women because they will accentuate the curves of the body. Also, choose pants that have pockets that are close to each other. Jeggings and Jeans without pockets will give a more round look to the backside and are not recommended if you’re not going for the round booty look. The natural small waist of an hourglass body type is a plus and should be shown off. Stretch pants do this perfectly because they fit the form of the body allowing the small waist and full hips to be seen.

Kimmy Jayanti is an Indonesian model born October 18, 1991 and started her career as an actress in 2010. I love Kimmy Jayanti because her photos are edgy but never raunchy or distasteful. What would the fashion world be without fashion models and photographers? Well, it would be a world dominated by manikins and manikins just aren’t as fun to photograph as live models (or as easy on the eyes). With that said I have a few models who I love to follow and this post is all about the 20 year old French model Anais Mali. Anais Mali born was born in France to a Chadian mother and Polish father. She began her modeling career in 2009 after signing with Wilhelmina Models. While under Wilhelmina Models she was featured in Style.it as a face to watch and walked for big names like Vera Wang and Marc Jacobs. In 2010 Anais leaves Wilhelmina Models and joins Ford Models. She has since been in Vogue magazine and become apart of the 2011 Victoria Secret Angels fashion show. Now take a look at some of her work:
